Diagnosing U:

Once you have booked your initial consultation appointment, you will be (e)mailed or faxed a blood requisition form. We request that you have your blood work completed a minimum of 6 weeks before your appointment. Several of the tests are complicated and require time for the lab to complete. You can go to your nearest Dynalife lab to get your blood work done. Only your first blood work requires fasting as it screens for a number of conditions that are important to your overall health. This is the only blood test that requires you to fast, unless directed otherwise by your practitioner.

Six weeks after your initial blood work is done, you will come for your first appointment with a BHRT hormone consultant. Upon your initial visit with our BHRT specialist, you will be asked to fill out an extensive questionnaire focusing on your main symptoms and concerns. This diagnostic tool is detailed and confidential. Please arrive 15 minutes early to your appointment to allow us to see you in a timely fashion.

During your consult, our BHRT specialist will go over your current and past medical history, as well as focus on areas of stress, dietary patterns and exercise. It is important that we thoroughly understand you in order to restore you to vitality and health. One’s health is much more than the sum of a number of hormones. These questions and your history allow us to develop an individualized approach to optimizing your health.

Our BHRT specialist will then review your blood work and consult with you to prescribe a personalized program that is customized to you and your specific concerns. This will include Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy, which is a key factor in stimulating new energy and health.

Additionally, you will become familiar with the importance of stress reduction, adrenal fatigue and unhealthy lifestyle choices. It may seem like a lot to take in at first, but our commitment to you is to ensure that you start along a new path toward improved health and restored vitality.

Based on your history and lab data, certain medical grade vitamins, nutraceuticals and supplements may be suggested by your BHRT practitioner. Our initial screening blood work and questionnaire is extensive and allows evaluation of many aspects that relate to your well-being and longevity. Your program will be individualized to you.

Balancing U:

On your first visit, after reviewing your blood work and addressing your concerns, your BHRT specialist will lay out for you a comprehensive hormone treatment plan. The prescription will be faxed by our clinic directly to a compounding pharmacy that is closest to you. As the transdermal creams used in Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy are specifically formulated to each individual’s needs, they can only be obtained from certain compounding pharmacies.

A conventional pharmacy like Shopper’s Drug Mart, London Drugs or Rexall cannot produce these transdermal cream prescriptions. The prescription will take a number of days to be completed, so please be patient with the pharmacist as they are doing their best to formulate a medication specially matched to supplement the hormone deficiencies and/or imbalances indicated in your blood work. Only compounding pharmacies can provide the expertise to safely and accurately produce your BHRT transdermal creams.

Our BHRT specialist will also give you a recheck blood work requisition. Ideally 6-8 weeks after the start of your new treatment, you will be required to go recheck your blood work in order to compare pre- and post-treatment hormone levels in order to optimize the treatment plan formulated for you at your next visit. 4-6 weeks after you recheck your blood work (all together 12 wks since your initial visit) you will come for a follow-up appointment with your BHRT specialist.

Try to avoid a revisit before at least 4 weeks has elapsed from the day of you blood test. Some of the hormone testing is complicated and will definitely require the full 4 weeks for analysis. This precaution will ensure a full review of your response to treatment is possible. At the follow up visit, your progress on hormone treatment, review of recheck blood work, improvement in symptoms and concerns will be addressed and your treatment plan will be adjusted according to your needs.
